When introduced into an oxidant-rich environment, such as aging skin, the omega-3 combines with free-floating oxygen molecules, otherwise known as free radicals. This prevents the oxygen molecule from causing premature damage to the remainder of the tissue. Omega-3s are commonly used in the pursuit of better heart health. However, the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of omega 3's can help to reduce the severity and appearance of furrows and wrinkles on the face, as well as on the body.
